Wrinkles Research

Exposure to the sun is one of the major causes of wrinkles in the skin. Most of the damage from sunlight is before a person reaches the age of eighteen although it may be many years later before skin damage becomes noticeable. It is damaging to the deep layers of the skin that that cause wrinkling and yellowing of the skin. Flaky and scaly areas appear as darkened areas on the skin and may be hardened. These areas do not heal.

The best prevention for further damage is to discontinue any exposure to the sun. Although this will not cure the damage, there are many moisturizing creams and substances that have a beneficial effect on improvement of the wrinkles. Expert advice and treatment should come from a dermatologist if over the counter treatments and makeup does not prove satisfactory.
