Voyeurism
Voyeurism is in the class of deviant behavior in which the person is
sexually aroused by observation of an unsuspected person who is in the
act of disrobing, is naked, or is having sex. This sexual arousal
is principally due to the fact that the victim is not aware of being
seen. This would be in the category of paraphilias, if the afflicted
person, repeatedly for six months or more, has intense sexual fantasies
and sexual desires by watching an unsuspecting victim in these acts.
Current society considers this as a normal activity by boys and men,
and sometimes by girls and women, in a mild form and if this does not
become the preferential form of sex.
Treatment for this is similar to all cases of praphilia. The
afflicted person should be under the care of a doctor who is a
specialist in cognitive behavior and psychotherapy. The doctor
should examine the patient to make sure the diagnosis is voyeurism and
then begin the most effective treatment.
Regardless of the treatment, a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition
and exercise will benefit this disorder or almost any health problem.
