Tinnitus

Tinnitus Research

Tinnitus is a condition in which various noises such as whistling or buzzing originate in the ear and are not caused by outside sources. The cause for tinnitus is unknown, but it may be a symptom for almost any defect or disorder in the ear. The kinds of noises differ from person to person but could have a rhythm that matches the pulse beat. Under a doctor's care, all kinds of possible ear disorders should be checked to find out what the underlying disorder or problem may be.

Treatments in general have not helped, but some procedures relieve the affect of some of the sounds. A hearing aid is sometimes helpful and background music provides some relief. A healthy diet will be helpful. It should exclude all refined glucose and carbohydrates, but should include fruits, vegetables, cold water fish, sprouted grain bread, lean protein and fiber such as ground flax seed. Also, some fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut should be included.
