Sexual Aversion Disorder

Sexual Aversion Disorder

Sexual aversion disorder is in the category of sexual dysfunctions that is characterized  by a condition in which the person has a profound, constant and consuming feeling to avoid sexual activities of any  kind.  This is most often a disorder that affects women, but occasionally occurs in men.  Sexual abuse or rape, a family strongly entrenched in strict religious standards and pain during or after intercourse, are a few reasons for sexual aversion disorder.

Treatment of this disorder is similar to all sexual dysfunction disorders.  It should be directed by a doctor who is familiar with both physical and psychological disorders. He needs to make a thorough diagnosis of the patient to find the exact disorder and the causes. Treatment should begin as soon as the doctor is convinced that he has the correct diagnosis, He has several options for treatment and should begin with the most effective treatments.

Regardless of the type of treatment, a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition and exercise will not only help this disorder, but will benefit almost any health problem.
