A simgle boil can be elimimated with nothng more than moist heat with no squeezing or other treatment needed. Some boils will disappear in a matter of time without treatment. It is best not to squeeze on a boil but let it develop to keep from more serious problems. Abscesses near the nose should not be squeezed or lanced, but must be under a doctor's care for oral antibiotics. The doctor can get the most effective antibiotic by procuring a sample of the pus for a laboratory examination which will indicate the best antibiotic for the particular bacteria involved.
