The best prevention for abscesses and also to prevent infection to others is strict hygiene. The skin must be kept clean with soap. A soap with an anti-bacterial substance will provide the most protection. A severe abscess can be treated successfully under a doctor's care by lancing the abscess, then draining the pus. the doctor must make sure that all pus is removed from the abscess. A small remainder can be cleared with a salt solution. If the pus is completely free of pus, no further treatment will be needed unless the location of the abscess is near the nose. If this occurs, antibioics should be taken orally to eliminate any danger of spreading the infection to the brain. Home remedy for a boil may benefit blood sugar and hepatitis.
