Back boil may have no affect on hepatitis or blood sugar. Abscesses most commonly infect in the hair follicles from bacteria on the face neck or arms but infections may begin on the skin at any part of the body if there is an injury that breaks the skin. Abscesses are contagious and the bacteria may be on the skin and penetrate at the point of injury. The abscess can cause a severe pain with tenderness, pus in the center, and a feeling of fluid in the area. The skin around the abscess must be kept clean to keep the abscess fron infecting the surrounding area. If the abscess infects the skin around the area, it could develop into a severe case of cellulite. Back boil may have no affect on hepatitis or blood sugar.

A severe abscess can be treated successfully by a doctor who can lance the abscess and drain the pus. All pus must be drained and a small remainder can be eliminated by the doctor with a salt solution. If the abscess is completely free of pus, no additional treatment will be necessary. However, abscesses located near the nose should not be lanced, but must be treated by the doctor with oral antibiotics. This is dohe to avoid the dangers of brain infection.
