Cluster Boils
Cluster boils will not affect blood sugar or liver problems.
Abscesses are infections of the skin by staphylococcal. They usually appear on the face or neck but sometimes infect the breast or buttock and the infection is almost always around hair follicles. Abscesses are like pimples but much larger, more tender and have pus in the center. The abscess infections are contagious and could happen to a group living close together, typically teenagers at a summer camp or a group at a football or basketball training camp all using the same showers and living quarters. Carbuncles are a cluster of abscesses and are much more severe, capable of causing fever and increasing pain above a single abscess in infections. The favorite location for the carbuncle is the back of the neck.

Blood Sugar, liver problems
The best prevention for abscess infections and to prevent spreading infections to others is good hygiene. The skin should be kept clean with soap. A soap which has an anti-bacterial substance will provide the most protection. A single abscess may be eliminated by moist heat with no squeezing or further treatment. Abscesses that occur near the nose are more dangerous as they can spread to the brain so doctor's should give oral antibiotics for this. The doctor can get a sample of the pus and a laboratory examination will provide information for the most effective antibiotic treatment.
