Boil Groin

A boil groin may not affect hepatitis or liver problems. Abscesses uaually infect in the hair follicles from bacteria on the face, neck or arms, but infections may begin on the skin at any location of the body that has an injury that breaks the skin. Because the infection of an abscess is contagious, it may be present on the skin and penetrate at the point of injury. The ascess can cause a severe pain with tenderness, pus in the center, and a feeling of fluid in the area. The skin around the abscess must be kept clean to keep from infecting the surrounding area, which if infected could develop into a severe case of cellulite. A severe abscess can be cleared up by a doctor who will lance the abscess and remove the pus. If there is a small remainder of pus, the doctor can remove it with a saline solution. If the absess is completely free of all pus, no more treatment is necessary. If an abscess is located near the nose, it should not be lanced. Instead, it should be treated with oral antibiotics to eliminate the danger of brain infection. To get the most effective antibiotic, the doctor should get a sample of the pus to find the most effective antibiotic for the strain of bacteria. A laboratory examination of the pus will provide this.
