Keloid

Keloid Research

Keloids are non-cancerous, pink, dome shaped growths of tough tissues that develop on the skin over surgical wounds or other injuries. Sometimes keloids are the result of acne and occasionally some develop with no apparent cause.

This is a condition that is stubborn in response to therapy. Under a doctor's care there are options to try such as injections of costicosteroid drugs or surgical removal of growths. There are other treatments with natural methods or over the counter medications that are successful with many people. There are also moisturizers that do not completely remove the growths but will cover them for a better appearance.
