Insomnia Research
Insomnia is a condition in which people have trouble in falling asleep or in continuing it without constant interruptions or disturbances. When a person wakes up or gets out of bed and feels they are not getting enough sleep that is a symptom of insomnia. There are many causes of insomnia which include mental and physical causes, anxiety, and certain medications. As people age, they need less sleep and the fact that the elderly can't sleep more does not indicate insomnia.
The doctor considers all the symptoms of insomnia and will recommend treatment based on symptoms and any other conditions that may be affecting the problem. Ordinarily, the people of advanced age require no treatment as their sleep changes are normal .Treatment for the younger people should depend on the causes and severity conditions. Drugs may be recommended but should only be taken for a short period to avoid addiction to the medication.
