Exercise and high blood pressure will benefit arthritis or cholesterol. The effective treatment for hypetension is to avoid drugs and live a healthy lifestyle of exercise, weight control, and proper nutrition. Exercise is most important because exercise strengthens bone, muscle, it lowers the hypertension level while at the same time it lowers weight. Weight control cannot be over emphasized because almost all persons with hypertension are over weight or obese so in many cases only a body weight reduction of five to seven per cent is all it takes to bring the hypertension level down to normal. The exercise program should be thirty minutes three to six times per week. Proper nutrition means to eat no refined glucose or carbohydrates, eat fruits, vegetables, lean protein, cold water fish, sprouted grain bread, celery stalks or celery juice, plus two table spoons of ground flax seed taken each day mixed in water, fruit juice or soy milk. Food supplements to take are policosonal, multivitamins plus cod liver oil. Limit salt to 2.3 grams per day, but eat 4 grams of potassium per day.
