Hypertension is a condition in which the heart force that moves fluids throgh the body's circulatory system is significantly higher than normal. The normal level is 120 over 80, the level of hypertension is any reading above l40 over 90. Hypertension increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney failure or heart failure. The most effective treatment is to adopt a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition, weight control plus exercise. Proper nutrition means to eat no refined glucose or carbohydrates, eat fruits vegetables including some with heavy amounts of potassiium, eat lean protein, cold water fish, sprouted grain bread, celery juice or celery stalks, plus two table spoons of ground flax seed taken each day in water, soy milk or fruit juice. The exercise program should be thirty minutes three to six times per week. Food supplements needed with the nutrition are policosonal, multivitamins, plus fish oil.
