High Blood Pressures
High blood pressures may affect arthritis or cholesterol.
Hypertension is a condition in which the heart force in the arteries is significantly above normal. When taking a reading of the heart force in the arteries, two values are checked. The upper reading is the systole level and is when the heart contracts, and the lower reading is the diastole level when the heart rests between beats. The normal level of the heart force in the arteries is 120 over 80 and any reading above 140 over 90 is hypertension.

-
High blood pressure, arthritis
Hypertension accelerates the risk of heart attack, stoke, kidney failure and heart failure. In the early years hypertension has no symptoms and the first indication may be a severe complication such as stroke. Protection for such an event is to take frequent readings of the heart force in the arteries and this can be done with inexpensive portable recorders that can be purchased in most drug stores. The best and most effective treatment for hypertension and also the most preventative of hypertension is to live a healthy lifestyle of weight control, exercise and proper nutrition.
