Fish Oil Benefits

Fish Oil Benefits

Fish oil has an abundance of benefits and each new study continues to expand the list of them.

The number one benefit is its ability to lower inflammation. Fish oil is nature's own anti-inflammatory remedy. It does it without the dangerous side affects that may happen if drugs are used for this. Moreover, fish oil heals the body at the same time it is reducing inflammation, whereas drugs give only relief of symptoms.

The Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil also help to repair brain cells.

In addition, these fatty acids in fish oil have been shown in laboratory studies to delay tumor growth and keep cancer cells from spreading. Tufts University research revealed that fish oil slowed down progression in prostate cancer.

The additional range of benefits of fish oil is impressively broad:

It lowers the level of triglycerides. This reduces the dangerous risk of heart disease.

It has vitamin D, a necessary nutrient for the body to absorb calcium. Vitamin D is only in few foods or it can be generated from exposure to sunlight.

It has a blood thinning affect that reduces the risk of sudden death from heart disease by 50 percent or more.

It builds strong bones.

It reduces pain in arthritis and many other conditions with its anti-inflammatory affects.

It helps reduce the condition of dry eyes. This reduces the risk of macular degeneration.

It reduces risk of prostate and breast cancer.

One of the most recent discoveries of the benefits of fish oil comes from researchers at Indiana University. Asthma patients had a 64 percent improvement in lung infection, and their blood markers of inflammation declined to the extent that symptoms fell below the criteria to indicate the disease.

Fish oil is also a protection from Alzheimer's. Although young people may not be concerned about Alzheimer's disease, the younger you start to improve your health, the greater is your chance to escape the dangerous conditions that occur as you age. Almost everyone can take a tablespoon full of fish oil a day for maximum health.
