Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia Research

Fibromyalgia are various disorders indicated by pain and stiffness in tissues including muscles, tendons and bones The tendons attach muscles to bones and the ligaments attach bones to each other. The disease could involve the whole body or it could be in only one area. The cause is not known, but it could be attributed to a number of things such as poor physical condition from lack of sleep or it could result from an injury, anxiety or stress. The doctor making the diagnosis checks the type of pain and the localities involved.

Treatment should focus on elimination of the cause such as removing stress or making up for missing sleep. Stretching and other types of exercise are also helpful. Under a doctor's direction, drugs could be used but are not usually effective. Rest and recuperation with relief from stress and anxiety will be the most effective treatments.
