Fetishism

Fetishism

Fetishism is a sex deviation in the category of paraphilias. It is characterized by the reception of sexual stimulation and gratification from inanimate objects, usually from clothing such as lingerie or shoes. This disorder is diagnosed as fetishism when the symptoms include intense sexual desires, fantasies or behavior, in connection with the inanimate objects, continually occurring for several months.

The afflicted person will prefer sex with the fetish because sexual gratification can only be obtained from the fetish. Sexual stimulation may be obtained by seeing, feeling or smelling the fetish.

Treatment for all disorders of paraphilias is similar.  The person should be under the care of a specialist in psychoanalytic and behavior disorders and the treatment must be over a long period to be successful.

Regardless of the treatment, a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition and exercise will not only benefit that condition but almost all health problems.
