Exhibitionism

Exhibitionism

Exhibitionism, also known as Lady Godiva Syndrome, may be in the category of paraphilias, depending upon the behavior pattern of the afflicted person. If the patient has a psychological need and pattern of behavior that exhibits in men the genitals, or less commonly in women, the breasts or genitals, and this activity  interferes with normal behavior, or if the person is aggressive and a menace to society, that person is an exhibitionist.

Treatment for exhibitionism is the same as in all types of paraphilias. The patient should be under the care of a doctor who is a specialist in psychotherapy and cognitive behavior. After the doctor has made his diagnosis and is satisfied that the patient is afflicted with  exhibitionism, he should begin the most effective treatment.

Regardless of the treatment, a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition and exercise will not only benefit this disorder but almost any health problem.  For more information on a healthy lifestyle, please view my articles on “Keys to the Century Mark”, and “Alzheimer’s” at no charge by clicking on the link below.
