Computed Tomography
Computed tomography is a method of obtaining x-rays with two
dimensional features that create pictures. This has revolutionized the
diagnosis of almost all diseases and conditions of the body. This
procedure is referred to as a CAT Scan or CT. It is painless and its
only serious danger is possible cancer from x-rays if exposure is
excessive.
A CAT Scan will reveal many abnormalities and adverse conditions with
such precision that effective treatment can be done. The list of
conditions that can be shown in this procedure includes brain
hemorrhage, a pulmonary embolism, an aneurism, kidney stones,
diverticulitis, deep vein thrombosis, kidney problems and liver
problems such as jaundice. Computed tomography will not only
diagnose a condition, it will also help monitor treatment.
