The goal is not to get the total lipoproteins to the lowest level, but to keep the HDL good lipoproteins at more than 25 percent of the total. The satisfactory level of lipoproteins is l40 to 200 milligrams, but better at 160 to 200 milligrams because a low level of lipoproteins is just as dangerous as a high level.
