Cholesterol Ratio
Cholesterol ratio may affect blood sugar and arthritis.
Lipoproteins are mainly made up of two items. The low density lipoproteins are the bad lipoproteins (LDL), and the high density lipoproteins are the good lipoproteins (HDL). The HDL good lipoproteins clean out the arteries and the LDL bad lipoproteins clog up the arteries.

Cholesterol Ratio
-
Cholesterol, blood sugar
The goal is not to get the lowest total lipoproteins but to get the highest percentage of HDL to total lipoproteins. The satisfactory level of total lipoproteins is 140 to 200 milligrams, but the better range is 160 to 200 milligrams with HDL at more than 25 percent of total lipoproteins. A total lipoprotein level below 140 milligrams is just as dangerous as a high one above 200 milligrams.
