Benign paroxysmal positional dizziness is a condition that happens frequently. It usually begins suddenly and only lasts a few seconds. This happens when a person is lying down and makes a sharp movement with the head from left to right or right to left or moves the head sharply back looking up. This is a harmless condition and clears up on its own with no treatment.
