Cancer Research

Cancer is a condition in which the cell is no longer normal and has unregulated growth. In the progression of the cancerous cell the DNA gradually changes. A cancer cell can often be destroyed by the immune system which is an indication that a strong immune system is one of the best preventions of cancer.

There are many risk factors of cancer - both genetic and environmental - such as family history of cancer, chromosomal abnormalities, cigarette smoking, exposure to ultraviolet rays, ionizing radiation from X rays, exposure to uranium and many others. The diet also can increase the risk of cancer. Lack of fiber increases the risk of colon cancer. Too much fat in the diet increases risk of cancer. Too many smoked and pickled foods increase risk of stomach cancer.

The most effective prevention of cancer is a healthy lifestyle of weight control, proper nutrition and exercise. Proper nutrition means to eat no refined glucose or carbohydates, eat fruits, vegetables, lean protein, full grains, cold water fish, fiber and special food of two table spoons each day of ground flax seed mixed in water, fruit juice or soy milk. Take each day a multivitamin that has all the vitamins, nutrients and trace minerals. The exercise program should be thirty minutes, three to six times per week.
