Brain Tumor
A brain tumor is any kind of tumor that invades any part of the
brain. This may be a benign tumor or a cancerous tumor. If
the tumor is cancerous it is either a primary tumor that begins in the
brain or a tumor that has spread or metastasized from a tumor in a
different location of the body.
There are many symptoms of brain cancer. The symptoms depend upon
the location and its growth rate. Usually a headache is the first
indication. Other symptoms are a slow or fast pulse, loss of
orientation, poor balance, double vision, dizziness, seizures, nausea,
numbness in an arm or leg, and many more.
A person with any of the symptoms should be immediately placed under a
doctor’s care for diagnosis. There are many options for diagnosis, but
the most effective is a CAT scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Treatment for cancer in most cases is surgical removal of the cancer
followed by chemotherapy and radiation, and in many cases is
successful. When the surgery cannot be used, the doctor has other
options such as stereotactic radio therapy or radio therapy.
Regardless of the treatment recommended, a healthy lifestyle of proper
nutrition and appropriate physical therapy will not only help this
condition but almost any health problem.
