The low glucose level is a condition of hypoglycemia and must be corrected at once. In hypoglycemia the glucose is cut off from the brain and brain damage could occur if it is a severe case and not promptly remedied. The condition can be corrected quickly by taking glucose tablets, candy. or food containing glucose. If necessary. glucose can be given to the patient intravenously.
