Causes of high blood sugar are not due to arthritis or cholesterol. When the body can no longer produce enough insulin to control the glucose level, the glucose level will significantly elevate above the normal range of 70 to 110 milligrams. This is a condition of diabetes which is a dangerous disease and must be controlled within the normal range to prevent serious complications that will develop with the progression of the disease.
