Measuring Blood Sugar
-
blood sugar, cholesterol
When taking the physical exam the doctor takes a glucose sample and if it shows a significant elevation above the normal 70 to 110 milligrams per a deciliter, it is diabetes; if it shows a significant drop from the normal, it is hypoglycemia. A diabetic must take frequent checks on glucose levels and a small kit no larger than a cigarette pack is available for home use.
