Type 2 diabetes can be controlled within or close to within the normal range by a healthy life style of weight control, proper nutrition, and exercise. Most diabetics are obese so a loss in body weight of five to ten percent may be all it takes to bring the glucose to the normal range. An exercise program of a minimum of thirty minutes three times per week will not only lower the glucose range, it will also reduce body weight. Diabetic blood sugar levels will show no information on arthritis or cholesterol.
