A diabetic who is taking insulin needs to have the glucose level checked frequently to take insulin or medication when needed. To test for glucose level the lancet has a small needle which is used to prick the finger for a sample. The sample is placed in the digital machine and it promptly shows a readng so that the diabetic will be able to decide on medication.
