A small packet no larger than a cigarette pack has been designed for this purpose. The packet has a lancet to prick the finger for a glucose sample which is transferred to a reagent strip. The strip is then placed in a small digital machine which takes a prompt reading. The readings should be charted for information to use by the diabetic and also furnish to the doctor for advice.
