Bedwetting

Bedwetting Research

Bedwetting is a condition in which a child unexpectedly, unintentionally and frequently wets the bed when the child is old enough not to do so. Children under the age of six are not considered as bed wetters since time is a cure for the majority of children with this problem.

Beginning treatment is usually counseling and bahavior therapy. The couseling is both for parents and child and consists of explaining that bedwetting happens frequently, it should not cause a feeling of guilt, and it is easily cured. Bedwetting alarms are extremely effective in stopping bed wetting. Bedwettng alarms are inexpensive and are not difficult to set up. In situations where the bedwetting is difficult to stop, it may be necessary to use drugs under a doctor's care.
