Attention Deficit Research
Attention deficit disorder is a condition in which a child is unable to concentrate or pay close attention to some one or some activity for a normal length of time for the child's age. The child has difficulty paying attention long enough to grasp the content of information or instruction that is given. The child may also be impulsive, hyper and impatient: This may cause fidgeting and constant movement of various sorts. Some of the children affected have learning disabilities that become apparent as they reach higher levels of school activity in middle school or high school.
Diagnosis and treatment depend upon the number of different types of symptoms and also the frequencies of them. The types of symptoms must be numerous since every child may have some of the symptoms. Treatment should be under a child psychotherapist or a child psychologist and usually consists of counseling combined with drugs.
