The non steroidal drugs may cause bleeding ulcers if used over a long period; however, in this case the gout only lasts a few days so it is safe to use the non steroidal drugs if directed by the doctor. To prevent recurring attacks, drink a lot of fluids and eat smaller portions of protein rich food.
