Agnosia

Agnosia

Agnosia is brain damage in which only a single part of the brain is affected. This occurs from a severe traumatic injury to the head, from a stroke, from old age, or some other neurological condition.  The affect of this disorder causes the inability of the person to comprehend objects. The objects can be seen or felt but cannot be associated with their function. There are many different forms of agnosia which can occur when the memory of a form is lost due to injury to the part of the brain storing that memory.

There is no method of treatment for this disorder, but it may recover suddenly on its own, but in most other instances; the only help is from a specialist in therapy for brain disorders.

Regardless of the treatment, a healthy lifestyle of proper nutrition and physiotherapy will not only benefit agnosia, but almost any health problem.  For more information on a healthy lifestyle, please view at no charge my articles on “Keys to the Century Mark”, and “Alzheimer’s” by clicking on the link below.
